Jackie & Brey’s Summer Wedding

It was wonderful! We were very pleased with the staff/owners and their willingness to help make our day special.

They knew all the right questions to ask, had many of the items we needed so we didn't have to rent, and were easy to get along with. … We had the ceremony out right at the edge of a little hill that looked down on the valley. Then we had the reception dinner in the barn. It was perfect! It was beautiful inside and had plenty of room for the bar, catering, cake and guests. Then we moved the party over to their pavilion where they had games and a dance floor set up. … I loved that we had access to the site the day before the wedding, Friday, to set up and get everything how we wanted it. … Then we had the site the day after the wedding as well so that when we were done partying we could leave and get some sleep. … I would get married here again in a heartbeat!

How we met …

My husband and I met online. We hit it off right away and even considered moving in together after just a few months. Honestly I went back to his place after that first date because I liked his dog, Maggie. He asked me back because Maggie liked me. We moved in together a little over a year later. Our first rental home was a nightmare we had mice, snakes, flies, and even bedbugs! We finally moved into a better situation and started talking being together forever. He proposed in Steamboat after a wonderful weekend together. Steamboat is special to us as we ski/snowboard but also just love the town. It was a no-brainer for us to get married there too.

Special touches at our wedding …

Our wedding had some special touches. I made my bouquet out of buttons as I love to craft (see below). Brey's groomsmen had him wear a romper at his bachelor's party with a rainbow cowboy kitten riding a shark on it, so in revenge we turned it into ties for them to wear at the wedding. Our dogs were our flower girls. Both my Dad and Step-Dad walked me down the isle.  We did a cheesecake bar instead of a regular cake. It was a unique and wonderful day!

About our wedding …

Our day at LJD was perfect. The sky was clear, the guests were happy and best of all I got to marry my best friend.  The day started off with a relaxing time getting ready with our friends at the house. I then got to be walked down the isle by both my dad and step-dad which was super special! Our dogs, Maggie and Gracie, were our beautiful flower girls. Maggie past this last year unfortunately. We got married with a beautiful backdrop of mountains. We loved having BBQ at the dinner after and dancing in the pavilion. Our dogs loved the ranch too! They ran around crazy the whole time! I would do it all over again with LJD if we could.
